Everybody at Fleetwood Town is sad to learn of the passing of our oldest known former player Dave Cookson last weekend at the age of 91.
Dave played for our club in the early 1950s and was well-known in local sporting circles, excelling in both football and cricket for many years. He was also a hugely popular and regular attendee of our Former Players Association monthly meetings and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dave’s funeral will take place at St Chad's Church, Poulton-le-Fylde on Thursday 28th March 2024 at 9:15am.
We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Dave’s wife Barbara, his son Neil and all his family and friends at this difficult time.
