Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Development Squad lined up for a derby last week against Preston North End and it ended all square at Poolfoot Farm.
It was a game where our Ladies dominated from start to finish and that showed on the score line as they netted two goals in the first half and took a lead into the break at half-time, thanks to a brilliant performance from Yasmin McLaren.
The visitors did manage to come back into the game after a more inspired start to the second period and even managed to win a penalty midway through the half, but that was stopped by Chloe O’Neill between the sticks.
Fleetwood were unlucky not to find the winner late on as they pushed for that all-important goal, but they seemed to just run out of time as the referee blew the final whistle with the score still at 2-2.
