Fleetwood Town's Former Players Association gathered at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday morning for their March meeting which included a special guest in the form of an ex-England goalkeeper.

On Thursday, special guest, Alex Stepney attended the meeting and addressed the group about his footballing career - as well, he talked about the one cap he got for England back in 1968 when they played Sweden in a friendly match against Swedeen.

It was a great insight into his career which spanned across English giants Chelsea and Manchester United, before making the move to the United States of America to play for the Dallas Tornados.

The meeting started off in the usual fashion, with Stuart Murdoch speaking to those in attendance about upcoming events, giving a birthday shoutout to those who celebrate in the month of March and tickets for upcoming matches at Highbury.

Later on, the group took part in the monthly sports quiz, which was hosted by Kev Byrne, who commanded the room in his very own way. There was one winner [see images below] who claimed a very luxurious prize.

Bobby Cuthbertson took on 'Higher or Lower' this week with Kevin Byrne being the centre of attention hosting the Poolfoot Farm version of the game. Bobby got the furthest we've seen in months, getting down to the last card to see if he would be crowned champion.

Unfortunately for Bobby, he chose to go lower than the eight on show, with Ange Hargreaves turning round a King on the stand meaning it was heartbreak for Bobby and the room - who were very engaged, giving their advice every turn.

Finally, it was time to get everyone in position for the group photo, which was extremely difficult due to the number of players there, but we managed to get everyone sorted and take the picture outside the main doors at Poolfoot Farm, which went straight into the archive.

The Club would like to thank all the members who turned up for the monthly meeting this time out. We look forward to welcoming you back, as well as new members on Thursday 4 April – see you again soon!
