Fleetwood Town’s Development Squad will be back in action on Friday evening as they host Newcastle United at Clitheroe's EcoGiants Stadium for their latest Premier League Cup group stage fixture.
Matt Lawlor’s side managed to carry on their run of form from late 2023 in their last outing as defenders Nathan Pond and Tom Hoyle both found the net in their 2-0 win over Coventry City at Poolfoot Farm earlier this month.
Looking at the form from before Christmas, our Young Cods were on a brilliant run as they had won five out of their last six matches with wins over Coventry, Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday, Wigan Athletic, and Peterborough United.
Earlier this week, we spoke to Under-18s coach Nathan Pond at the training complex and he previewed the Premier League Cup clash against The Young Magpies - you can watch the interview HERE.
Both sets of supporters are able to purchase tickets for the match at Shawbridge with adult tickets costing £5, and concessions (seniors and under-16s) are just £3 – you can buy your tickets at the gate with either cash or card.
