Supporters from both Fleetwood Town and Charlton Athletic have the opportunity to make a difference to those less fortunate as we are hosting local charity, Faith in the Community on Saturday 17 September.
The Club has been working in partnership with Faith in the Community, as well as The Pantry food bank – which is the town’s only food bank for those in need. Both organisations thought this fixture against the Addicks seemed the perfect date to come together to help our local community.
Your donations can make a real difference to people’s lives, whether that be non-perishable food donations or change in the buckets, that will be going around the stadium during the game.
Fleetwood has always been a tight community and we want to keep that going by working alongside charitable organisations – and you can to!
Since its opening, Faith in the Community feeds over 200 families per week, including almost 300 children in Fleetwood. £5 donations can help a family for three for a week, your donations and kindness will really make a difference this year!
Phill Clarke, from Faith in the Community, said: “It’s great that the local football club and Faith in the Community have come together for this initiative. The last two years have been tough on many families around the world, and in our community in Fleetwood. We wanted to get the word out about what we do and it’s great that the football club support the work we have done so far.
“We hope that both Fleetwood and Charlton fans support this initiative on Saturday 17 September. Food donations will go a long way in helping families get through a week so anything you can bring; it will be much appreciated.”
Fans are asked to bring non-perishable donations of the following items: tinned meat and fish, tinned fruit and vegetables, packs of rice and pasta, tinned beans, tinned packet soup, breakfast cereals, tea and coffee and long-life UHT milk and juice.
