Uwe Rosler says that his players are all geared up and ready to go for Saturday’s Fylde Coast derby game against Blackpool.

Fleetwood welcome The Seasiders to Highbury Stadium in what will be only the fourth ever meeting between the sides.

Both sides have picked up 26 points in League One so far, with Rosler keen to stress his side will be ready for the challenge ahead.

“We need to be prepared as anything can happen,” said Rosler.

"Derby matches give you that little but extra and you find out what it means for yourself, but also the supporters.

“We don’t have a lot of players who have played in derby matches, and we need to stress to the players how important it is to be prepared from the first whistle to the last.

"We’ve had a good training session today and when the weather is like this; you get yourself geared up for the match.

“Anything can happen but we will have all of our ammunition ready to fire.”

Rosler himself played in numerous Manchester derbies as a player, and knows the type of atmosphere to expect on Saturday.

“I was fortunate to play in a big derby match,” added Rosler.

“As a player you feel obligated to give 110%, and as long as you do that, the supporters will get right behind you.

“I expect a tough game against good opposition. Gary Bowyer has a done a fantastic job under the circumstances, and has made them stable.

“We know what Jimmy Ryan can offer on the football pitch. He was one of the four we tried to keep in the summer; but we departed in good faith and in good spirit.

“The match will be won by who has the most about them, and who has more desire. We are excepting a battle.

Nathan Pond and Lewie Coyle have previously missed games due to injury or suspension, and the German provided on both player’s availability ahead of the game.

“We welcome back Lewie. This will help us with options; but I am not confirming that he will start the match after his ban.

“Nathan Pond is in consideration too; however he will have a test as he wasn’t fit to be included in Tuesday’s squad."
