Experienced defender Ben Heneghan signed for The Cods in the summer of 2023 from newly-promoted side Sheffield Wednesday.
Heneghan started his career in Chester back in 2014, before making a move to Scottish outfit Motherwell where he made 50 appearances for the Steelmen.
A move to Sheffield United would follow for the defender before making a move to Blackpool on back-to-back loan spells with the Seasiders, making 80 appearances for them overall.
In 2020, Heneghan made the switch down south to AFC Wimbledon, who during his 18-month stint, had made 70 appearances before making a move to the other side of Sheffield.
The centre-back became the first signing of Lee Johnson’s reign, who took charge in 2023.
