Jayden Stockley, Ryan Broom, and Ben Heneghan have all been credited for their performances in Fleetwood Town’s 3-0 win over Port Vale at the weekend by being named in the EFL Team of the Week and the Football League Paper’s Team of the Day.
Charlie Adam’s side earned their first win in a while on Saturday afternoon and what a team effort it was as three goals on the day earned a convincing win, with Stockley netting the first midway through the first half after capitalising on Connor Ripley’s error between the Valiants’ sticks.
The second came from a moment of brilliance by Bosun Lawal, who is unfortunate not to be named in the Team of the Week after playing to the best of his ability all afternoon in the midfield, as he played a low cross into the box where forward Ronan Coughlan was able to tap home from close range.
Town’s defence was stalwart throughout the afternoon, keeping their first clean sheet since November, and Heneghan was at the centre of it all, marshalling Elijah Campbell through his EFL debut after joining on Deadline Day. Broom made it three late on in the clash, firing in at the near post, topping off a classy performance from everyone in red.
