Fleetwood Town’s Development Squad and Under-18s are both set to return to action tomorrow as they are back in Professional Development League action at Poolfoot Farm.
Matt Lawlor’s Development Squad, who are set to host Charlton Athletic at 1pm, are currently on a three-game win streak in the league having done the double over Hull City and put four past Wigan Athletic in their last outing, which took place at Highbury Stadium almost a week ago.
Defender Finley Potter opened the scoring, with a brace from Pharrell Brown following it up before Sam Fishburn rounded out the scoring. The Under-21s currently sit in fourth place in the league after 22 games, with Tuesday’s opponents in seventh place in the Southern table after coming off a 2-1 home loss to Colchester United at the weekend.
Before this starts, there is a game in the morning where Mark Yeates’ Under-18s host Peterborough United in an 11am kick-off, again at the Club’s Training Complex. The young Cods will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing out to Bristol City on the road at the weekend.
Even though David Animasaun and Liam Roberts both got on the score sheet on the day for the side who sit in seventh place on 30 points, it wasn’t meant to be at the Robins’ High-Performance Centre on Saturday as the hosts dominated the second half, netting four goals in 45 minutes of play.
