CHARLTON ATHLETIC

The Addicks come to the Fylde Coast as one of the division's in-form sides as a 3-2 win against Carlisle United last time out, which meant it's now two wins in a row for the first time for Nathan Jones in the dugout since the Welshman took over in February.

As the London side sit in 14th place in Sky Bet League One, they are 10 points clear of the relegation zone and 17 points away from the Play-Offs - but since Jones has come in, the aim has been to steer clear of the drop zone after a disappointing start to the campaign after a respectable tenth place finish last year.

Despite the side from The Valley, it has been a disappointing campaign in comparison to last season’s respectable tenth-place finish. One clear bright-spark has been striker Alfie May’s season so far - Charlton’s number nine has 20 goals so far this season, well clear of Charlton’s next highest scorer who is George Dobson with eight. May is also sitting top of the league’s goal-scoring charts three more than Barnsley’s Devante Cole [17].

The Addicks now go into their fourth consecutive campaign in Sky Bet League One following relegation from the Sky Bet Championship in 2019/20 as this will be the 14th meeting between Fleetwood and Charlton.

THOSE WHO HAVE PLAYED FOR BOTH

Jayden Stockley

Town’s current number nine is a liked-character in this current Town side, known for his strength, hold-up play and a fond eye for goal - Stockley was also appreciated by Charlton fans with 33 goals in 89 appearances with one impressive goal scoring season with 20 scored in one campaign in 2021/22 - Stockley made the direct move to Highbury Stadium from Charlton.

Brendan Wiredu

One of the most popular figures on the Fylde Coast on this moment in time, Town’s current captain spent most of his younger years at Charlton with a spell at Bromley in between. Only a handful of appearances at the Valley followed and Wiredu left for pastures new to Colchester and regular game time where Fleetwood signed him from and 78 appearances later, he’s one of the first names on Charlie Adam’s team sheet.

Gavin Kilkenny

Another player in Fleetwood’s current team is current number eight and AFC Bournemouth loanee Gavin Kilkenny. A player who is coming into his own as Town’s performances have improved recently and Kilkenny has recently scored his first professional goal against Wigan Athletic - Kilkenny was also on loan to Saturday’s opponents last campaign but he’s already played more games for Town [9].
