Fleetwood Town can confirm that forward Sam Fishburn has today joined National League side York City on loan until the end of the season.

During this season, Fishburn has scored important goals against Coventry City and Huddersfield Town in the Professional Development League and Premier League Cup, leading his side to the knockout stages for the first time against Tottenham Hotspur.

The centre-forward, who has earned valuable first-team experience in his young career, signed for Town in the summer from fellow Sky Bet League One side Carlisle United - where he made his first-team debut at the age of 17.

Since his debut for the Cumbrian side, the 20-year-old went on to feature in 14 games in all competitions, with nine of those coming in League Two, before making a further six appearances on loan at Blyth Spartans last season, as well as featuring for Morpeth Town.

Fishburn is eligible for York City's National League clash against already promoted Chesterfield on Good Friday, with the match being played at the LNER Community Stadium in a 3pm kick-off.

Good luck and all the best in Yorkshire, Sam!
