WYCOMBE WANDERERS

Wycombe currently sit 17th in the Sky Bet League One standings, picking up 30 points in the process. Their last match was away at Wigan Athletic, and with the referee having treatment on the pitch, the game went on for 110 minutes, which saw the hosts score the latest goal ever in the EFL, courtest of Charlie Hughes.

The Chairboys' last win on home soil was back on New Years Day. Matt Bloomfield's side found themselves three goals up thanks to goals from Ryan Tafazolli, Sam Vokes and Luke Leahy. They were dominant throughout, but Bristol Rovers scoring two goals in the space of a minute, with Chris Martin the man to nearly salvage something for the Pirates.

Wycombe find themselves just outside the relegation zone, with them 12 points above the Cod Army. Their man to watch this season has been Leahy - who is the Club's top goal scorer in the league on seven goals. The former Shrewsbury Town man scored in the reverse fixture at Highbuty back in October, with his brace at Oxford being the difference between them leaving the Kassam Stadium with one point instead of none.

Town haven't won at Wycombe since 2020, with Paddy Madden scoring the all-important goal on the night, but will the Cod Army go there and pick up the points?

WHAT THE MANAGER HAD TO SAY REGARDING THE GAME

Head coach Charlie Adam spoke to press on Thursday afternoon, and here's what he had to say in his pre-match interview:

“Yes, that’s the big thing and the most frustrating thing. Even last weekend we improved much in the second half in terms of our performance but it's just one moment that costs us and that is what happens when you play top opposition in this league.

“One moment wins it for them and one moment loses it for us and it’s frustrating. We’ve been back on the training ground this week and we have dusted ourselves down because we are excited for the match against Wycombe this weekend.

“I watched them on Tuesday night at Wigan and yes, they have some good players and Matty [Matt Bloomfield] has got them playing some good stuff. I know a few of their players and we know as a group that they’re going to be a handful, but we have to match that and try and stamp our authority on the match.”
