Fleetwood Town can confirm young midfielder Barry Baggley has rejoined League of Ireland Premier Division side Waterford FC on a loan deal.
The 22-year-old spent 10 months on the other side of the Irish Sea at our sister-club during their promotion-winning campaign last time out, a stint where he not only became a fans’ favourite at the Blues but was also ever-present within the side and was even named in the League of Ireland First Division Team of the Season.
Baggley, who has featured 15 times for the First Team here at Fleetwood, will now head over and pick up the spot he held all last season in the centre of midfield as Waterford embark on their first year back in the top division in Ireland, and will be facing plenty of tests in that time.
This move further enforces the partnership between the two clubs in the Fleetwood Football Group after Baggley played in Town’s select XI that played against the Blues on Tuesday at Highbury, which ended in a 2-0 win for the Cods, with the youngster playing the full 90 minutes on the night.
We wish you the best of luck whilst back at the RSC, Baggs!
