Fleetwood Town head coach Charlie Adam spoke to the media ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League One match away at Wycombe Wanderers.

Here are the three main topics from Charlie's pre-match interview:

On being in games and not getting points…

“Yes, that’s the big thing and the most frustrating thing. Even last weekend we improved much in the second half in terms of our performance but it's just one moment that costs us and that is what happens when you play top opposition in this league.

“One moment wins it for them and one moment loses it for us and it’s frustrating. We’ve been back on the training ground this week and we have dusted ourselves down because we are excited for the match against Wycombe this weekend.

“I watched them on Tuesday night at Wigan and yes, they have some good players and Matty [Matt Bloomfield] has got them playing some good stuff. I know a few of their players and we know as a group that they’re going to be a handful, but we have to match that and try and stamp our authority on the match.”

On closing the gap…

“The key is to keep as many teams involved in the relegation scrap as possible. Wycombe is a tough place to go as I have been there myself, and the energy and crowd get on top of you and it’s one where you have to relish it.

“We must keep teams involved as the more that are involved, then of course it’s helpful but we need to keep focus on what we are doing and as I say, we need to get into good habits and keep the right principles, stick to the ways we want to play, and from there I believe the points will come.

“We know where we are at, and we know the situation. We have to win football matches and we are still in the mix."

On confidence…

“When that first win comes, that will be the important one. The sooner that win comes the better for us and then we can really kick-on for the rest of the season, but I believe one win will change things here and I have faith in this group and squad and they are giving me everything.

“We will set ourselves up on Saturday to be hard to beat, but we will also have that threat on the attack when we are in possession, and for me that is important because Wycombe can be a team that causes you problems.

“We will be on our guard, but I am really looking forward to another challenge.”
