Fleetwood Town’s Wrens Ladies Reserves were in action at Poolfoot Farm last week against Bolton Wanderers and came away from the clash 4-3 victors.

It was going to be a tough game for our Ladies, as they dropped points to the Trotters in the game before away from home, but the side was eager to get back to winning ways. This was evident from the start as they showed aggression from the off.

This paid off almost immediately as Ruby Farrell pressed at the right time and forced the visitors into putting the ball in their own net, giving Fleetwood the lead in the opening seconds of the game.

After this, the game was well and truly on as Bolton netted a quickfire double to flip the game on its head before Farrell, who was named player of the match levelled the scoring up before the break.

Both sides continued to be clinical from this point on as Farrell found her second of the game to put our Ladies back into the lead, but that was short-lived as Bolton quickly brought the game back to level terms.

However, with all this action taking place in the first half of the clash, it wasn’t done there as Farrell completed her hat-trick on the day and finished off the scoring, even though both sides created gilt-edged chances throughout the second half.

This win not only got the Ladies back to winning ways, but it also helped them get revenge on a side that took points off them the week before. Our First Team, on the other hand, weren’t so lucky in their League Plate clash with Workington.

The cup tie, which took place at The Fibrus Community Stadium, saw a goalless first half from both sides, even though each of them came close on multiple occasions, but the hosts showed their mettle in the second half, as they turned the game around.

The Reds opened the scoring early in the second period and took the game from there, as they managed to add a further three goals to secure their spot in the next round of the competition – we would like to wish them luck in the League Plate.
