Fleetwood Town are back at Highbury this week with the first of two being against former Premier League side Reading FC, and before the fixture we have all you need to know ahead of the game in our match preview.
Fixture: Fleetwood Town v Reading FC
Competition: Sky Bet League One
Date: Tuesday 13 February 2024
Venue: Highbury Stadium, Fleetwood, Lancashire, FY7 6TX
The Royals are the visitors to Highbury Stadium on Tuesday night, and this will be the first time the two sides will have met on the Fylde Coast. Fleetwood beat Reading 2-1 earlier in the season, with a late strike from Josh Vela being the different on the night in Berkshire.
Reading were docked four points earlier in the season, but after five unbeaten, they currently sit 18th in Sky Bet League One on 34 points - if they weren't deducted those points, they would find themselves 14th in the table, just above Wigan and Wycombe.
In their last fixture at home to Charlton Athletic, they picked up three points in a 2-0 home win. Femi Azeez scored two in ten minutes to seal the victory. They managed to beat surprise package Stevenage 1-0 on the road on Tuesday 6 February, with draws against Oxford and Leyton Orient in the two before.
Reading will want to put some more daylight between themselves and the bottom four, and a win for the Royals will help them on their way to safety.
