Fleetwood Town's Development Squad will be back in action on Friday afternoon as they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Poolfoot Farm in the Professional Development League.
Matt Lawlor's side played on Wednesday afternoon away at Birmingham City and picked up a point on their travels. The hosts scored in the 20th minute but Town's January recruit, Tommy Lonergan scored later in the half to level things at the break.
Fleetwood did have a great chance late on the steal the points with Sam Glenfield's half volley from distance, however his effort struck the outside of the Birmingham post with the keeper left stranded.
Sheffield Wednesday currently sit 3rd in the league standings, having picked up four points from their last two. In the last outing, they beat Burnley 2-1 and the game before, they played out a 2-2 draw with League One side, Peterborough United.
Both Fleetwood Town and Wednesday supporters will be able to watch the action unfold at Town's Training Complex (FY5 4HX) on Friday 16 February 2024, with kick-off at 1pm. With some first team players expected to get minutes in their legs, it could be a good chance for fans to see them in action.
