It's an Academy double header this Tuesday as our Under-18s take on Millwall in the PDL Cup and our Development Squad are in action against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League Cup in the evening
If you have read the Cods Calendar already, you will know it's going to be a busy week ahead of the First Team, the Development Squad and the Under-18s, but in this preview, we are looking closely and the two matches to be played on Tuesday.
Tuesday 6 February (11am KO) – Millwall U18 v Fleetwood Town U18
Our Under-18s start the action this week as they travel down to London to take on Millwall in the PDL Cup on Tuesday afternoon, with a young side expected to be thrown into the mix. The Young Cods were in cup action last week as well, hosting Colchester United at Poolfoot Farm, which ended in a 2-1 win for Mark Yeates’ side.
Dom Richmond scored a brace in the Midlands to secure the three points for Town, and all will be looking for some momentum when they head down to the capital in midweek.

Tuesday 6 February (7pm KO) – Fleetwood Town U21 v Huddersfield Town U21
Our Development Squad’s Premier League Cup group stage comes to an end on Tuesday evening as Matt Lawlor’s side host The Terriers at Clitheroe’s EcoGiants Stadium, and they will be looking to for all three points to advance to the knockout stages of the competition after their draw against Newcastle United on Friday evening.
Following from the 1-1 draw at home to Premier League side Newcastle last week, with Club legend Nathan Pond scoring, the final group stage match is highly-anticipated with a lot on the line for all Clubs involved.
