Fleetwood Town can confirm midfielder Harvey Macadam has joined our sister club in Ireland, Waterford FC, on loan until the summer.

Macadam, who joined Town from non-league side Ashton United two years ago, has been in the first team regularly since then, making 43 appearances in that time, but has been hampered with injuries during his spell on the Fylde Coast.

The 23-year-old recently worked his way back to full fitness and featured in a friendly against the Blues, during their pre-season training week at Poolfoot Farm back in January, and impressed Head Coach Keith Long whilst playing the centre of midfield.

He is now set to head over the Irish Sea in search of valuable minutes and will join up with fellow Fleetwood players Barry Baggley – who has been named captain for their initial season back in the Irish top-flight – and Maleace Asamoah who scored the first goal of the season in their 1-1 draw against Shelbourne on Friday night.

With this move being on Deadline Day, he will be eligible for their League of Ireland Premier Division clash against Drogheda United on Friday 23 March at Weavers Park (7:45pm kick-off).

Good luck during your time at the RSC, Harvey!
