A number of Fleetwood Town players were out in the Community on Thursday to visit three sports camps that have been running during the February half-term break.

The players went out and took part in a variety of sports in Fleetwood, Carleton and down at Poolfoot Farm, which saw special guests from the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies attend the girls only session.

Down at the training ground, there were two sports camps on, one which was a mixed age group football camp, with the other being female based only, which saw two members of the Wrens Ladies team turn up to inspire and relate to those on the visit.

Sophie and Gracie Slater took time out of their busy work schedule to visit the girls, and this saw the duo get involved in the session, whilst also refereeing the match between the small group. It was great to see the young players all come together, share stories and get involved.

Ronan Coughlan and Ryan Graydon were also down at Poolfoot Farm, and after a good session with Charlie Adam and the rest of the first team, the forwards made their way down to the mixed group football session. They played games with the kids and also took questions from the group, asking them about their favourite goals and moments in their careers so far.

At the Chaucer School Sports Camp, Phoenix Patterson made a surprise visit, and with this camp being multi-sports base, the tricky winger got involved in multiple activities with the children, signed autographs to those who brought in Fleetwood Town shirts and scaves, but also sat down for 10 minutes to get grilled by the pupils.

Ryan Broom and Danny Mayor attended Carleton Green Primary School on Thursday, and just like Phoenix did at his school, the duo get stuck into the session, whilst also talking about this season to the group with quite a few asking questions from their arrival to their departure.

It was a brilliant afternoon in the community, and here’s to doing it all over again soon in the next half-term!
