Super-fan Bailee gets the full first-team experience!

Last week saw Fleetwood Town welcome super-fan Bailee Hewitt to the club’s training complex on Thursday to experience what a normal day looks like for our first-team players ahead of a matchday.

It would be a fair assessment to say Bailee, who follows Fleetwood home and away, had a brilliant day with the squad, which started by meeting the players before they went out to training – some would be shy at first but not Bailee as he walked straight into the changing rooms for introductions.

This was only the beginning of the involvement throughout the day as not only did he lead the squad out for their morning training session on the elite pitches, but he also joined in with the rondos, the pre-session run, and even the stretches that were set out by first-team physiotherapist Youl Mawene.

After they were all limbered up for the session, Bailee took his spot on the sidelines alongside head coach Charlie Adam – and his coaching staff – and shared his thoughts on how to set up for the day ahead. Talks carried on as the cones were being laid out on the pitch, with a massive smile spread across everyone’s faces.

Training then went on as normal with Bailee, his family, and Community Trust staff members in attendance as food was being prepared by the staff here at Poolfoot Farm for lunchtime. Bailee took the centre spot as he sat with David Harrington, Callum Dolan, and new boys Harry Boyes and Finley Potter.

John Hartley, CEO of the Community Trust, said on the day: "Bailee has been involved in the Trust's charitable activities for the last 8 years, firstly in Primary school and now attending our PAN Ability football provision.

"It is clear to see how much he has grown over the years (not just in stature!) and I'm delighted that we could give something back to him. The Cod Army have welcomed him with open arms and he is now an ever-present supporter for both home and away fixtures."

Overall, it was great to have Bailee in for the day and we hope that he enjoyed it as much as the players did as they all thought he did brilliantly during training – a big thank you to the Community Trust for bringing him in, we hope to do this again soon!
