Fleetwood Town’s Under-13s had a brilliant experience late last week as they witnessed how the professional development groups prepare for their matchdays at the Club’s training complex on Friday.

The young Cods, who will be going into their first year of the youth development phase in the summer, saw first-hand what it takes to ready themselves for games at a higher level as they witnessed the Under-18s train ahead of a game, as well as the Under-21s during a matchday prep as they beat Sheffield Wednesday at Poolfoot Farm.

The staff were excellent at facilitating their learning and understanding of how a full-time environment works, from having input from Mark Yeates in the Under-18s analysis session to tasks set by Scott Macneill, Luke Hobson, and Mason Seddon which helped support their observation skills.

This isn’t the first time this age group has experienced something like this as they have previously had a full-day experience during the October half-term, training during both the morning and afternoon. They then had to prepare for a match of their own as they played against South Belfast in the afternoon to round off a great day.

The Club is hopeful that these experiences that we are fortunate to provide for our young players can inspire them to see the ‘end goal’ of being a full-time player at here Fleetwood Town and provide them with unique insights as to what habits, actions and behaviours are required to get to that level.

Hope you had a good day and keep up the good work!
