Fleetwood Town can confirm Darren Way has joined Lee Johnson’s coaching staff and will take up the role of Assistant Manager.
Way, 43, joins Fleetwood Town with more than a decade of coaching experience and has seen success in that time as he was part of the coaching staff that helped Yeovil Town get promoted to the Championship for the first time after winning the 2013 League One play-off final.
During his time at Yeovil, he had many roles ranging from Technical Coach to First Team Manager and was nominated for the League Two Manager of the Month twice in just three months after being fully appointed back in 2016 and secured safety for the side before completing his UEFA Pro License at the season’s end.
Since then, Way – who won multiple accolades during his playing career including the FA Trophy, the Conference title, and the League Two title – has taken up the role of Under-18s manager at Plymouth Argyle and has spent the last three years there, and they have won the league on two occasions during that time.
Way will now join up with manager Lee Johnson and the rest of the coaching staff ahead of the upcoming fixture against Oxford United at Highbury on Saturday.
Welcome to the club, Darren.
