It was a moment to remember for young Carl Johnston, who captained Northern Ireland's Under-21s on home soil in their UEFA Qualifying match against Luxembourg.
The 21 year-old has featured in all of Fleetwood Town's six league games this season, and his form last campaign as well as the start this time round earned the defender a call up to the Northern Ireland Under-21s for their opening Euro 2025 qualifier at Mourneview Park.
Johnston was named captain the day before by new manager Tommy Wright, and put in a solid performance at right back depsite the result going Luxembourg's way.
Town's young goalkeeper, Stephen McMullan got his first ever Under-21s call up this international break and was named in the starting eleven for the game on Thursday. It was a great moment for the former Warrenpoint keeper - who will be looking to get his second appearance at this level in the next game.
