Congratulations to defender Bosun Lawal for picking up another international cap on Friday evening in the Republic of Ireland Under-21s’ 3-2 win over Turkey at Turner’s Cross.

Lawal, who is on loan from Scottish Premiership side Celtic for the season, started the clash and played the whole 90 minutes in the EURO 2024 Qualifier and it was some game to be a part of.

Even though they dominated the play in the first half, the boys in green ended up going into the break a goal down, with Turkey netting from a penalty midway through the first period.

A big second half followed as Ireland battled their way back into the game, with goals coming from Andrew Moran (Blackburn Rovers, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion) and Zak Gilsenan (Blackburn Rovers) cancelling out the visitors’ goals before Aidomo Emakhu (Millwall) produced the perfect end to the fixture.

96 minutes into the clash, the substitute, who came off the bench for Johnny Kenny (Shamrock Rovers, on loan from Celtic), found the back of the net meaning Ireland would take the lead for the first time in the game with seconds to go, and would take the three points home!

Well done on picking up another international cap, Bosun!
