Fleetwood Town's Former Players Association met on Thursday morning for their monthly meet, with more quizzes and A new member making an appearance at Poolfoot Farm.
In typical Former Players fashion, this meeting started with the whole group gathering round for morning briefing, with Phil Brown taking matters into his own hands due to Stuart Murdoch being away watching the club's Under-21s in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup down at Everton's Finch Farm.
Phil introduced the latest member to the association, with Brian Morley - who played left back for the Cod Army between 1988 and 1990, making more than 50 appearances for Fleetwood Town. Brian gave a little speech, talking about his career and memories made on the Fylde Coast.
With Kevin Byrne away this week, Quiz Master duties fell to Colin Monks who provided the lads with an Olympic Quiz. It was tougher than usual for most in attendance, but plenty went away knowing more about the Gold medalist in the 110m Hurdle race held in Mexico back in 1986.
With Ange on brew making duties this week, many gathering around the table to grab a hot drinks before settling down for a while to talk about old times, what they've been up to since the last meeting in August, and the latest news around the football club.
Looking ahead to October's meeting, the doors will be open for all to attend with a special guest speaker. John Stiles - son of 1966 World Cup winner Nobby Stiles - will be at Poolfoot Farm to discuss Dementia, a topic close to John's heart with his Dad passing away with the illness. As well as give an informative talk, John will provide the group with some laughs with his background being in comedy - this is one you don't want to miss.
The next meeting will take place on Thursday 5 October at Poolfoot Farm (FY5 4HX), with the meeting starting at 10am and finishing at 12pm. We can't wait to see you all down next month.
