Fleetwood Town can confirm that four players have been nominated for awards in the upcoming North West Football Awards, with two from the first team and two from the Wrens Ladies sides.
Following a great year on the pitch for both the first team and Wrens, with making FA Cup history and winning the league for the Reserve team, four Fleetwood Town players have been nominated for awards in this years North West Football Awards.
After signing from Colchester United last summer, Brendan Wiredu quickly became a fans' favourite after strong performances on the pitch. After claiming numerous Player of the Month awards last season, Wiredu has now been nominated for the League One Player of the Season award - VOTE HERE for Brendan!
Carl Johnston has been nominated for the Rising Star awards - an award for those who are under-23 during the 2022/23 season, and with over 50 Fleetwood Town appearances to his name, the young Northern Ireland defender / midfielder hasn't looked back since making the move from Linfield back in 2018. Johnston is currently on international duty with Northern Ireland's Under-21s, and will be looking to get game time before returning to the Fylde Coast next week. VOTE HERE for CJ!
For Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies, Emily McCarthy has been nominated for the Women’s Player of the Season award, with Chloe Parkinson getting the nod in the category of Women's Rising Star for last season. After winning the league title last season, the Wrens Ladies Reserves have gone from strength to strength, with the First Team going close in their race, but narrowly missing out on the top spot.
