Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves welcomed Carlisle United Ladies to Brews Park on Sunday, and after a few weeks off due to postponements, it was a welcomed game as the Cod Army came away 2-1 winners on home soil.

The Ladies started the game off well and took control early on in the clash. The hosts had fantastic spells of play across the thirds, which ensured the Ladies had the upper hand on the Fylde Coast. The Reds looked dangerous on the attack and were unlucky not to find the back of the net on several occasions. The half finished goalless to the frustration of Fleetwood.

As the second half got underway, the Wrens continued to keep up the pressure in the search for the opening goal of the game, and with the whole team batterling hard the deadlock was finally broken in the last twenty minutes of the game as Ruby Farrell found the back of the net with an outstanding finish.

The searched continued for a second goal to ensure they kept all the points at home and Farrell delivered, giving the Ladies a 2-0 lead with minutes to left of the game.

Carlisle worked hard and in the last minutes of the game managed to pull one back, but the hard work from Fleetwood paid off and all three points were claimed on the final whistle.

A special mentioned to Player of the Match, Ruby Hindle - who made her debut for that Resevres today and was brilliant from start to finish. Stay tuned to all Wrens Ladies news on X HERE!
