Both Bosun Lawal and Brendan Wiredu have been named in the Sky Bet League One ‘Team of the Midweek’ after their performances in the 1-0 win over Reading on Tuesday.
Lawal started the game at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in the perfect fashion as he managed to score his first career goal brilliantly. The defender cut in from the right with the ball and decided to try his luck with his weak foot from 25 yards, which turned out to be a good decision as the ball curled straight into the bottom left corner to open the scoring.
Fan-favourite Wiredu will be happy with the inclusion as well due to this being his first start back after spending two-and-a-half months out injured after the opening game of the season against Carlisle United. He was a consistent figure in the midfield throughout the clash and was a key player in keeping the clean sheet on the night.
These two players are the first two from Fleetwood to be included in the EFL ‘Team of the Week’ promotions this season and we hope to have many more before the season’s end – congrats to both of you!
