Report: Under-18s fall to a home defeat against Hull City

Fleetwood Town’s Under-18s were back in action in the Professional Development League on Saturday afternoon but fell to a 4-2 loss to Hull City at Poolfoot Farm.

It was the start that Mark Yeates would have wanted from his side as they found themselves in the lead just 10 minutes into the clash as Liam Roberts managed to pick out Dom Richmond with a cross, with the forward poking it home from close range.

Even though the visitors brought the game back to level terms before the break, a header from 16-year-old defender, Adham Slater, finished Crispin McLean’s corner from the right after rising highest to nod a dominant header past the goalkeeper.

From this point though, the visitors found a groove in how they attacked the ball and quickly found the equaliser and, soon after, two more goals to finish off the tie at our training complex, which meant it would be the first loss of the month for the Under-18s.

Town XI: Bellizia (GK), Cirino, Slater, Haughey, Butterworth (C), Jack Doherty (Elmore 76’), Daha, Namputu, Richmond (Currie 60’), McLean, Roberts.

Unused subs: Woodward (GK), Eccles, Jake Doherty.
