Fleetwood Town duo Carl Johnston and Stephen McMullan made another appearance for their national side on Thursday afternoon, help claim Northern Ireland's first win in their Euro Qualifiers.

The game was played at the The Azersun Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan, and both Carl Johnston and Stephen McMullan were named in the starting XI for Under-21s Euro Qualifier which kicked off at 3pm BST on Thursday afternoon.

It was a great start for Northern Ireland, who opened the scoring on the road thanks to Ciaran McGuckin's header inside the 18-yard box, which was assisted by Sean Stewart. The boys continued to push on but couldn't find that second goal to kill the game off.

The hosts Azerbaijan did have a penalty, but it was fired wide of McMullan's goal - which helped the young keeper keep his first clean sheet. Carl Johnston once again captained the side at right back and this win will be a huge boost for the young Northern Ireland internationals as they now head back home to prepare for the Serbia match on Monday evening at Mourneview Park.

Well done, lads!
