Fleetwood Town can confirm defender Carl Johnston and goalkeeper Stephen McMullan have been called up to the Northern Ireland Under-21s ahead of their clashes against Azerbaijan and Serbia.
Manager Tommy Wright has picked both defender Carl Johnston and goalkeeper Stephen McMullan in the squad for the October internationals after both were selected to play in their opening two matches.
Johnston was named captain last time round, and will be hoping to guide his side back to winning ways in Baku next week. McMullan also played in both fixtures back in September.
The Under-21s began their UEFA qualification campaign last month with a 1-0 home defeat to Luxembourg and a 1-0 defeat against Ukraine in Poland.
The Under-21s are set to face Azerbaijan’s Under-21s in the Dalga Arena in Baku next Thursday a 6pm BST, with the game against Serbia being played at Mourneview Park in Lurgan on Monday 16 October. The kick-off time for that one is 7:30pm.
