Fleetwood Town can confirm young midfielder George Morrison has joined National League North side Kings Lynn on an initial month-long full-time loan.
Following a successful opening season with the Club's Under-18s, Morrison put pen to paper on a two-year professional contract at Fleetwood Town Football Club back in 2022, and has since gone on to be called up to the Scotland Under-18s squad for the first time, making his debut in their friendly against Poland.
The 17-year-old will make the move to West Norfolk for a 28-day loan, but will move down full-time in the aim to throw some valuable challenges to help with his development off and on the pitch. This season, Morrison has been ever present in the Under-21s Professional Development League, and this move will hopefully aid him even more in his early footballing career.
Morrison made his Fleetwood Town debut last season in the 3-1 home victory over Oxford City in the Emirates FA Cup, and with more experiences under his belt since that match at Highbury, he will be hoping to start for Kings Lynn this weekend when they make the trip up north to Darlington.
Academy Manager, Jack Higgins said on the news: "This is a fantastic opportunity for George, who will move away from Fleetwood Town for the first time having joined us at the age of 10, and we can't wait to see how this full-time loan move helps George in his professional development.
"He's joining a side in a very competitive league, and with this loan, there will be many different challenges he will face over the next month and it will be interesting to see how he copes with all these tests with playing men's football and being away from the club.
"It's going to be exciting to see how he thrives in this new environment and we know he will give it 100% as he's hungry and determined to do well and we will see how he develops."
Good luck at Kings Lynn, George!
