Fleetwood Town and it's Community Trust will show support to Show Racism the Red Card today ahead of the league fixture against Lincoln City at Highbury.

To raise awareness, Show Racism the Red Card asked people to take part in their #WRD2023 campaign, where people wore a red item of clothing. This was evident in the Trust and at their sessions held around the local area on Friday.

Town's players will wear red Show Racism the Red Card t-shirts during the warm-ups today at Highbury in aid of promoting and sharing a strong message around the ground.

Fleetwood Town Community Trust are happy to help raise awareness and education around the historic and existing racial issues in our society. Taking part in the #WRD2023 allowed the Trust to do this, as well as demonstrate that there is no room for racism in our society.

And ahead of this afternoon's Sky Bet League One clash with Lincoln, the Trust will be handing out pieces of red card fifteen minutes before kick-off for supporters to hold up and show their support to the campaign.

John Hartley, Fleetwood Town Community Trust'S CEO, said: “We are committed to tackling discriminative behaviour head-on and showing that there is no room for racism within our community.

“We supported the Wear Red Day campaign on Fridat and today we encourage local residents across the region to do the same, highlighting one clear message.

"By working collaboratively, we can all show that we are united through the inclusive values that we as a community stand by.”
