Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce young midfielder George Morrison has today signed a contract extension at the Club until the summer of 2026.

Following a successful opening season with the Club's Under-21s and a successful loan stint at King’s Lynn Town - which has been extended until February - Morrison has put pen to paper on a two-year extension at Fleetwood Town Football Club

The 18-year-old joined to become a scholar in the summer of 2022 and signed his first professional contract back in October 2022 on his 17th birthday, and after outstanding performances in the Club's Under-21s and on-loan, the Club felt it was appropriate to offer him a new deal.

George joined the Club at Under-12s and has progressed through the ranks, now seen as a regular in the Under-21s scene after performing well for the Under-18s last season, which saw them reach the Fifth Round of the FA Youth Cup.

Head of Academy, Jack Higgins, said on the news: "We are really pleased to see George sign another professional contract at the football club. George has been someone who has been a high performing player in his age group and someone who at this club we’ve challenged and set high standards.

“His attitude is first class, and he has a genuine desire and hunger to be a professional footballer and for us, it’s now about keeping up with the pace of his development and us setting new challenges for him.

“We felt it was appropriate to offer George a new contract as a reward for his start at King’s Lynn, and was and is the youngest player in the National League North by a considerable amount, and we have high hopes for George to come back after his loan to push on with the first team.

“We know this contract will keep him hungry and having a good relationship with him and his family, it’s something we hope continues over many years as he grows on loan and at Fleetwood Town.”

Congratulations on the contract, George!
