Loan watch: Dolan and Hayes given accolades after impressive displays

It has been another successful week for our players who are out on loan, and we've put together a full round up including Cian Hayes' Man of the Match performance for Rochdale.

With Hayes getting recognition with Rochdale at the weekend, another Town player in Callum Dolan was named in the FA Trophy Team of the Week after he scored one and set up the other against Yeovil Town to help his side progress in the competiton after a 2-1 home win.

Dolan has impressed since making the loan move down South, and after a long time out due to injury, it's great to see one of our own get valuable minutes on the pitch, whilst also showing their skill and ability week-in week-out. Dolan's goal was scored from 20-yards out, beating the keeper at the far post (if you've seen this social media post, you've already seen it).

Theo Williams is another player out on loan at Torquay, and the young forward played 90 minutes like his Town teammate. He created many opportunities for himself and others around him in the game (getting the assist for Callum's goal), whilst also working hard for the cause against a side who beat them in the league only a few weeks ago.

Hayes - who is on loan at Rochdale - helped his side pick up all three points against Aldershot and had to do it the hard way with the visitors to the Crown Oil Arena taking the lead early on in the match. Town's young forward has been a thorn in the side of late, and with his direct running and ability to create anything from anywhere on the pitch, his attacking threats caused The Shots defenders trouble all afternoon. Hayes was named Man of the Match for his performance, making him a fan's favourite in Greater Manchester.

For the duo at King's Lynn Town, both Billy Jones and George Morrison featured in the starting XI against Stourbridge FC, but it wasn't the result they would have wanted coming away with a 2-1 loss. Josh Coulson scored late on to make it an interesting finish, but with five minutes left on the clock, there wasn't enough time to get that equaliser. Jones played 67 minutes in the match, with Morrison playing the full 90 minutes after his loan was extended until February 2024.

At FC United of Manchester, they picked up three points after a 3-2 win over Guiseley AFC. The hosts won a penalty in the 93rd minute and Declan McLoughlin was the man to slot it past the keeper to steal the points. Pay Boyes was the busier of the two keepers in the early exchanges, but when looking back at Guiseley's two goals, there wasn't much he could do between the sticks.

For both Will Russ and Tom Hoyle, there was no game at the weekend, but both now have games to look forward to with Hoyle travelling to Leek Town in the league, with Russ' side hosting Morpeth Town at Ewen Fields - the full fixture list for our loan players can be found below.
