Wrens Ladies lose out in the final on penalties

It wasn't meant to be for the Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves on Sunday, who lost out on penalties to Bolton Wanderers Women in the LFA County League Senior Cup Final.

After being crowned the league champions in April following an impressive display against Bury FC Foundations at Poolfoot Farm, the Ladies had the chance this weekend to claim the double, but it just wasn't to be for those in red and white.

With the game finishing goalless, both teams did have their moments within the 90 minutes, with Town edging out the second half and going close on a number of occassions.

Despite losing out in the cruellest way possible, the coaches and the football club are very proud of what the Ladies have achieved in the 2022/23 season, and would like to congratulate Bolton Wanderers on their victory at Thornton Cleveleys Football Club.

All three of the Wrens Ladies teams are hosting open trials on Thursday 6 July 2023 at Poolfoot Farm. If you would like to know more details, click HERE and get in touch with our coaches today.

We are looking forward to developing the teams even more this year, and hopefully going one further in the LFA Senior Cup, as well as the league competitions.
