FLEETWOOD TOWN

In what has been a brilliant week for the club where the team gained back-to-back wins against Sheffield Wednesday in the Fourth-Round replay of the Emirates FA Cup and Charlton Athletic in the League, Scott Brown’s side will be going into the game against Peterborough with an abundance of confidence.

With the defence standing up to attention and the attack firing, Fleetwood will hope to get their third win in a row as they face a Peterborough side - who were beaten 5-0 by Bolton Wanderers last time out.

Danny Andrew suffered an injury against Charlton at the weekend, but fellow defender Harrison Holgate got his first league goal for the club in an away day that will live in the memory for a long time.

Promise Omochere has been joined up front by new signings Jayden Stockley and Jack Marriott and the trio have been playing very well.

Brown and the team will look to continue this current good run and continue to climb the table.

PETERBOROUGH UNITED

Coached by Darren Ferguson, Peterborough sit 9th in the table, and having been beaten well by Bolton last time out, the Posh will be wanting to get back to winning ways against an in-form Fleetwood.

Peterborough’s form hadn’t been too bad prior to Saturday. They’d won their last three games beating Port Vale, Portsmouth, and Forest Green respectively but came up very short at home to the Trotters.

Sitting just six points off the play off places, Peterborough knows a win on Tuesday will be just the tonic as they head into a run of games which sees them face second placed Sheffield Wednesday and table toppers Plymouth both in the space of two weeks of each other.

Posh do boast a good attack, with the likes of Joe Ward, youngster Kwame Poku, Jonson Clarke-Harris, and recent signing Kabongo Tshimanga all at Ferguson’s disposal. If those players can be at it on the Fylde Coast on Tuesday, Peterborough could get straight back to winning ways.

WHAT THE MANAGER HAD TO SAY REGARDING THE GAME

Fleetwood boss Scott Brown was jubilant after Town’s victory over the Addicks making it back-to-back wins and he wants more this Tuesday night.

Brown said: “We’ve got a good squad, we need everyone to come together, and it shows the willingness of the lads to go to the end. It’s sometimes hard for the lads to go Saturday-Tuesday consistently but we always have eyes on the next fixture.

“The subs that came on against Charlton really helped us; they freshened the legs up and gave us that extra little bit of energy as well.

“I thought we were exceptional, we worked hard and had to dig deep but I’ve seen that before from my players and we go again.”
