Fleetwood Town's Development Squad came out victorious on Tuesday afternoon following a 3-2 win over Peterborough United in the Professional Development League clash at Poolfoot Farm.

Matt Lawlor's side dominated the first half and created numerous opportunities throughout the game, and took one of those chances on the 24th minute mark. Sam Glenfield got on the scoresheet after teammate Kyle White did superbly well on the wing to cut back in and lay the ball off for the Northern Ireland youth international to strike with his left foot past the Posh keeper.

Four minutes later, White bagged himself a goal. This time it was up to Pharrell Brown - who was named on the bench for the First Team at the weekend - to cut inside from the left-flank, pick out Finlay Armstrong who then crossed to the former AFC Blackpool midfielder to finish at the back post.

With Town crusing on the half-hour mark, they kept on the front foot and with two minutes left of the half, White doubled his tally for the afternoon. Armstrong again got the assist from the left side and White was on hand to bury the ball into the goal.

As the second half started, Peterborough came out the traps fighting and nearly scored only 60 seconds into the restart. Young goalkeeper Tom Donaghy was on hand to parry away the shot on goal with him getting the best of his opponent in the one-on-one situation.

Like Town did in the first half, the visitors managed to score two goals back to back which made it a nearly last 25 minutes for Lawlor and his side. Posh fought until the final whistle, but the Cod Army were able to hold on to their slender lead and pick up maximum points on home soil for the first time since August and the 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town.

Town XI: Donaghy (GK), Rooney, Teale (Hughes, 68'), Johnson (C) Armstrong, Robertson, Wilson (Wright-Ocana, 68'), Glenfield (Asamoah, 66'), White, Brown, Fishburn (Daha 66').

Subs not used: Cragg (GK).
