Winger Junior Quitirna spoke to the media after making his return from injury during Fleetwood Town’s 1-1 draw with Carlisle United at Highbury.

Quitirna had faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines, after suffering an injury during Fleetwood's 2-2 draw with Barnsley in October, but today returned to the pitch and showed glimpses of his quality - hoping to pick up from where he left off.

Here’s what he had to say…

On making his return…

“I’m delighted to be back, hopefully, to contribute with the goals and kick on in the league and do what I was doing before. The main thing for me is to just get back and play as many games as I can because I’ve missed a lot.

“It’s been frustrating [being injured] because I thought I was kicking on; impacting and helping the team out and I was unfortunate to get injured. It’s something I can overlook and thank the medical staff that have brought me back.

“I’m coming back, and I need to prove myself and continue the run of form I was in before got injured. There’s a lot of competition within the building; It’s a positive thing it means we have a lot of options and people that are ready to come on and change the game.”

On this afternoon’s result…

“Unfortunately, we didn’t get the three points, but we did take some positives out of. Having the points shared; we’ll take that with the run of form that we’ve been on.

“I think Portsmouth took a little bit out of the boys, obviously with back-to-back games. It needs to be better as a team, but I do think we’re gelling in together.

“I do think we’re going to start picking up points as a team; we know what we’re capable of doing, it’s going to come.”
