The newly promoted Reverses kicked off their North West Women's Regional League campaign on Sunday, welcoming Radcliffe Women to Brews Park.

Following promotion last season, Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies began their season with a 2-0 loss at home to Radcliffe Women.

The ladies started the game off well, playing great football across the thirds with fantastic large spells of possession, creating several chances in the first half. The girls were were unlucky not to find the back of the net on a number of occassions.

It was the visitors who managed to break onto the score sheet after a costly mistake causing Fleetwood to find the ball into the back of the net. This gave the visitors a one nil lead at the half-time break.

Fleetwood kicked off the second half well, again with lots of positive and dominant possession across the pitch, creating numerous chances throughout the second half, and it just felt like one of those days in which the Ladies just couldn't find their rewards.

The visitors found themselves back on the scoresheet midway through the first half. In what was a frustrating afternoon for the ladies, there were plenty of positives to take form the game including several of the players making their debut for the club.

Player of the Match was awarded by the opposition. Congratulations, Islay Aitken - absolutely deserved!
