Fleetwood Town’s Wrens Ladies had a good time in Cumbria at the weekend as they managed to win the Penrith Cup after beating six opponents and keeping five clean sheets at the same time!
To say that the Ladies were clinical in the tournament would be an understatement as not only did they keep five out of six teams from scoring against them, but they also ended the day as one of the top scorers in the tournament.
Our Wrens managed to net 13 goals at the other end of the pitch throughout the day, with Emily Slater ending up top scorer on the day with five, and the forward played a part in the final which finished 1-0 to the good.
With nine teams competing in the tournament, this is a great achievement for our Ladies and we would like to celebrate both E.Slater and Holly Hunter for being named Players of the Tournament!
Well done once again, Ladies – keep up the good work!
