Fleetwood Town’s Former Players Association met up at Poolfoot Farm again on Thursday morning and enjoyed another interactive get-together!
The meeting started in the usual fashion with FPA staff Stuart Murdoch and Phil Brown both making their opening remarks, as the players grabbed their seats and brews, listing off the month's birthdays and other important upcoming news.
Soon after this, the spirits were lifted as valued member Kevin Byrne stepped up to the front and pulled out his giant deck of cards for the inaugural game of ‘Byrne’s Higher or Lower’ which was met with laughter throughout.
To be fair to Kevin, the idea seemed great in his head but laying the giant cards on such a small table was destined for disaster, with the game ending up as more of a comedy act than a gameshow.
Cards flew everywhere, with edges hanging off the edge of the table, meaning players were able to cheat and work their way up the board with relative ease – Long story short, Kevin had to go back to the drawing board on this one!
After this jovial game, it was time to wrap up and all the players said their goodbyes and finished off with the normal ‘see you in a month’! The next meeting will take place at Poolfoot Farm on Thursday 4 May between 10-12am.
