Goalkeeper Alex Cairns has been nominated for an award at the 2022 Northwest Football Awards.
Cairns – who currently holds the record for most EFL appearances made for the Cods – featured in 44 games during the 2021/22 season and was part of the squad that kept Fleetwood in League One after a difficult season last time out.
The 29-year-old is up against Accrington Stanley’s Sean McConville, Bolton’s Dapo Afolayan, Morecambe’s Cole Stockton, and Wigan’s Will Keane.
A winner will be announced at The Armstrong Projects NWFA gala dinner, which is set to take place at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford on Monday, 7 November from 6.30 pm, hosted by Eilidh Barbour.
Good luck, Cairnsy!
