A couple of players who are out on loan at the moment found the net in the last seven days for their respective sides – here’s an update on how they’ve all been playing.
One of the scorers was Chris Conn-Clarke as he produced a wonder strike in his first of two appearances over the last week. The winger started in Altrincham’s 1-0 win over Oldham Athletic last Tuesday and was the difference on the night as he struck the ball from 20-yards into the top-left corner and secured the points at Moss Lane.
A few days later, he made the trip to Wrexham and suffered a defeat, even though he tested the goalkeeper multiple times before being subbed off in the 77th minute.
Another forward Will Russ is currently in the North East with South Shields but wasn’t in the squad for their FA Trophy tie against Warrington Town, but managed 45 minutes in the game before as they came away 1-0 winners in their league fixture against Warrington Rylands.
Two young Cods are with Colne at the moment, Tom Hoyle and Jake Wallace, and both of them have been playing well recently for the team from Holt House.
Both started in the 1-0 win over Glossop North End last Tuesday evening and their comfortable 5-0 victory over Warrington Rylands on Saturday, with Hoyle netting the fourth on that afternoon – scoring his first for the club.
