Fleetwood Town duo Carlos Mendes Gomes and Toto Nsiala visited Cardinal Allen Catholic High School this week and gave pupils in Year 10 a visit they won't forget in a long time.
With Toto's French background and Carlos' Spanish background, Tuesday saw a different visit take place at a local high school with their foreign language pupils who were learning both Spanish and French.
The pair were introduced to the class - who had prepared questions in their chosen language - and it was a matter of the players replying back in the lanague to help the students answer their questions and also educate them with key phrases and words.
Curriculum Leader for Modern Foreign Languages at Cardinal Allen, Jack Winstanley held the lesson and said: "It was a fantastic day enjoyed by the players, the staff and students alike. On the day, everything felt well-organised and the students had a brilliant time practicing their French and Spanish skills with the players.
"The whole group particularly enjoyed hearing about Toto and Carlos' likes and dislikes on the topics of favourite football teams, favourite foods and much more."
Once the players time in the classroom came to an end, they made their way down to the sports hall to take in a meet and greet with those who wanted to grab a selfie with the pair, as well as get signatured for their language books and their Fleetwood Town shirts and scarves.
It was great to see so many Town fans down at the school and we can't want to see you down at Highbury in the near future, cheering on the boys in red and white.
Mike Tallentire, School Sport Educator for the Community Trust, added: "As soon as Mr Winstanley contacted me regarding a potential visit, as a Club we were desperate to make it happen.
"It was great to hear the players speak openly about their experiences on and off the field in their native languages, whilst also emphasising the importance of being able to speak in different languages."
