Fleetwood Town hosted a charity match which saw Fleetwood All Stars take on Blackpool Legends at Highbury on Sunday afternoon, which saw more than £8000 raised for Isabelle Grundy’s medical treatment!

The match was played to help raise funds for Isabelle, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in the summer of 2021 after finding a lump in her stomach, which only has a 50% survival rate.

Since diagnosis, she has undergone intensive treatment, ranging from high-dose chemotherapy to blood transplants. Her parents think that treatment in America that is not readily available in the UK is her best chance at beating cancer for good, but it is incredibly expensive.

Legends like Gareth Seddon, Jamie Milligan, and Scott Davies set foot back on the Highbury turf all for a good cause as they took on players like Keegan Parker and Danny Coid who played for the side in Tangerine. Nine goals and a lot of laughs were had throughout the day, with over 700 supporters in the stands, and the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer Wayne Bibby on the PA, making it an all-encompassing experience for all who went and donated to a great cause.

Afterward, everyone made their way to Jim’s Bar where drinks were flowing, live music was being played, and a raffle also took place with plenty of prizes to be won. Players and supporters all paid in and picked up their prizes, with many of them sharing them out with others there.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and donated to help Isabelle get the treatment she needs!
