Fleetwood Town can confirm we will be starting the 2022/23 Sky Bet League One season off with an away trip to Port Vale, after the fixtures were announced on Thursday morning.
The Cods’ campaign begins on Saturday 30 July as the Cod army travel to Stoke-On-Trent to face newly promoted side Port Vale at Vale Park – who will also be the first new Club in League One Scott Brown’s side face.
Town’s first home match of the season will see Plymouth Argyle visit Highbury Stadium on Saturday 6 August 2022, with the last home game on the Fylde Coast being played on May 6 2023 against Ipswich Town.
Brown will welcome Wayne Rooney’s Derby County to Fleetwood on Saturday 20 August, with the Cod Army making the reverse trip to Pride Park on Saturday 18 March 2023.
On Boxing Day, Fleetwood Town will host last season’s play-off semi-finalist, Sheffield Wednesday before travelling to Shrewsbury Town on New Year’s Day.
The Easter weekend Fleetwood face off against Cambridge United on Good Friday, and will then welcome back former boss Joey Barton and newly-promoted side Bristol Rovers on Easter Monday.
The final away game of the season is at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday 29 April against Bolton Wanderers – which will be a repeat of the final game in the 2021/22 campaign.
