Fleetwood Town can confirm the club will host Scottish Premiership side Dundee United in a pre-season friendly at Highbury this summer.
The Cods are set to welcome The Terrors to the Fylde Coast on Saturday 23 July, with kick-off at 3pm. This is the first fixture to be announced ahead of new Head Coach Scott Brown’s first campaign in charge, with more to be announced over the next couple of weeks.
There are a few ties between Town and the club from above the northern border. Our former manager Micky Mellon took charge of the side for their first season back at the top-tier of Scottish football in 2020, where they also made it to the Scottish Cup semi-final.
There's also a tie with Charlie Mulgrew, who was part of the Cods squad during the 2020/21 Sky Bet League one season, as he helped United reach their highest finish in the Premiership since 2014 – 4th – during his first year there.
