Two of Fleetwood Town’s young players were on show for their respected loan sides in the last week, with the majority of games having to be called off due to weather issues – here’s how they got on.

Both Billy Batch and Akiel Raffie started and played 90 minutes in Kendal Town’s away fixture against Runcorn Linnets, which didn’t go to plan for the Mintcakes. They went a goal down just after the half-hour mark after conceding a penalty and they weren’t able to pull the result back from there. Danny Edwards missed this fixture due to illness.

There was a host of games called off at the weekend due to waterlogged pitches and other issues. Connor Teale’s Marine had to call off their away clash against Trafford, with Connor Eastham and Harry Clarke having to wait to make their AFC Blackpool debuts as the game at Common Edge against Atherton Labernum Rovers was postponed.

Harry Wilson’s FC United of Manchester were also unable to play after a late pitch inspection saw their game against Warrington Town be cancelled after they determined the pitch to be unplayable.

Ashton United were in a similar position, with Ben Thompson stuck on the sidelines, as their game against Matlock Town was called off. Luckily, they don’t have long to wait for their next game as they are set to face Morpeth Town at Hurst Cross on Tuesday 11 January (7:45pm kick-off).

Keep working hard, lads!
